One of the most famous Finnish immigrants was Lauri Törni/Larry Thorne. He has wide admiration here, but even that small nationalist in me takes a neutral stance. I read two more lines before reversing😄 The original name was probably Hämäläinen, more typical one.

My elder sister does some family research and she checked if we had anything to do with Paanajärvi. Turns out, no. Pity, I would have stolen it from the Russians. But she found a distant connection to Finnish Composer Ahti Sonninen(1914-1984) from another Savonian roots family.
