A whirlwind week that started Sunday with my daughter getting induced, a 20 hour labor + 4 hours pushing, me having to advocate before it ended up going real bad, and a vacuum assist, and suddenly I'm a grandma!

There's few downsides to living rural, but finding same day help when you discover a truely enormous section of rot in a flat roof that your "giving birth in 2 days" daughter needs to move into...is a struggle.

I think the @weathernetwork.bsky.social has been drinking. We regularly get temp drops more than this, like almost daily all summer long. Earlier this week, we had a 28c high and woke up the next morning to 3c, followed by 26c that day etc. Little Smoky, AB.

Holy crap what a rollercoaster. I sent them an email asking for clarification. They just called and have reopened up my file and put me back on the wait lists. Unfortunately the wait lists are really long now, but at least I'm back on it. So glad I advocated for myself instead of just giving up.

I learned this morning, that after waiting a year for my turn at the bladder clinic in Edmonton, that my file was closed. They said I didn't tell them which treatment path I wanted (I most definitely did) and that I didn't call them during the year wait. That requirement doesn't exist, I checked.

This is horrific. If my 2 adult kids on AISH didn't have me as an advocate, I don't know what they would do. They can't work and it terrifies me to think that if something happened to me, this might end up being their fate, all because the AB UCP are ignorant, evil bastards.

2 of my adult kids are on AISH, b/c their drs and therapists say they can't work. But politicians apparently know better & switched them to ADAP, like the stress of having to reapply for a program they already qualified for is going to fix them, make them able to work? Fuck. Them. All. To. Hell.

Took 30 week pregnant daughter in for an NST last night, baby had a day of being too quiet so we had to get her checked. Baby fine. But got home 1am and took my PM pills, went to bed. Shot up 15 minutes later when I realized I took my AM pills, including ADHD meds. I sort of slept for 2-3 hours?

Random complaint/question: Why do most frozen berry mixes have strawberries? Costco (Grande Prairie, AB) has been out of their triple berry blend for a couple weeks now. I had to buy separate blue/raspberries but can't find blackberries anywhere. Strawberries are a major migraine trigger. *sigh*
