Children's fun. Jump, jump, jump after the frog.

I don't think I've shown this old drawing here before. A fearsome beast has gone out hunting. Yes, that is young Orso. Fun fact: this character was never born as an animal cub. He is actually a human who acquired a dual nature during his teenage years.

I'm still alive. I'm just having a hard time drawing anything right now... So here's a sketch of Orso, which I spent way more time on than I should have.

Yochelcionella angustiplicata- is a tiny mollusk from the Cambrian of now Siberia and sponges from the genus Protospongia. Paper, acrylic.

Pleistocene steppe bison Bison Priscus. It inhabited Europe, Asia, and North America until the early Holocene and is the ancestor of modern European bison and American bison. I'm not sure if it's noticeable, but I was inspired by ancient images of bison and Altamira and other caves.

This year I've done more work with prehistoric animals than I have in a long time. But I don't have time to do these guys. Will see them again next year.

An uninvited guest. I haven't done any new work with Orso in a while, and I don't have anything new for the New Year either. So I'll leave another old work here. It's almost New Year's)

Just enother Orso sketch

Palaeoplatyceros hispanicus- a muntjac-like deer from the Middle Miocene of Spain. Numerous antlers found on Otero Hill in Palencia allow to trace the age-related dimorphism of these animals. The illustration shows an adult, possibly even old, animal and a younger deer in the background.

Scary paleoart: deers Antifer ultra as skinwalkers. A little sketch for Halloween. And of course, I know geography separates these deer from Navajo mythology, but nevertheless, it will be like this)

1253

Praedamalis howelli - an extinct antelope of the Hippotragini tribe from the Pliocene of Ethiopia, related to the oryx.

19311

Qilin tungurensis- A newly identified new genus of giraffe from the Miocene of Inner Mongolia, China.

227769

Bretzia pseudalces- deer from the early Pliocene of North America. Since pollen from trees of the genus Taxodium and evidence of seasonal accumulation of deer were found, I tried to depict one of these forests during the period of leaf fall.

25314

Mammuthus primigenius- woolly mammoth.

I'm not an expert in watercolor painting... but sometimes I want to try)

Some fossil shells. I collect modern species, but sometimes I can't resist the pleasure of acquiring fossils. Camptonectes (Boreionectes) breviauris (Taumyr, Russia), gastropod core (Saratov region, Russia), Ampulina sp. (Dax, Landes, France)

In addition to creativity, I collect some things. I love colored stones, minerals and seashells. I haven't found much of what's listed here yet. But I saw some very inspiring works of art and thought that I should also show my treasures sometimes)

And now a little fantasy. I wanted to depict my character as a dragon. I'm not sure it looks like one, but I'm happy with the dragon. And some fragments for detail.

26628

Samotragus crassicornis- an antelope-like or goat-like ungulate from the Miocene of Greece.

While I'm taking a break to create new works with prehistoric animals, here's a spoiler)
