My thoughts: “[Trump’s] rampant and casual use of these terms reflects fatphobia and shows how normalized this form of societal marginalization is. It discounts the real psychological and physical health effects of obesity and pathologizes people with obesity…”/2

I and many others including GLP1 users and medical professionals spoke with @jilliangloria.bsky.social about the pejorative way that Trump talks about GLP1s - referring to them as “fat drugs” and “fat shots”.

We're rapidly approaching the dystopia of having people in the developing world being mechanical turks wearing VR rigs cleaning the homes of people in wealthier countries for pennies an hour.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm hoping she is getting all the support she needs. Overall, this class of meds is generally safe; however, rare yet serious side effects do occur.
