yes! as someone who’s been working in procedural text before LLMs were a thing, I really wish people had a sense of the varieties of procgen writing that *aren’t* genAI output. there’s a ton of stuff we can do (including pre-LLM, ML style AI) that’s nothing like chatbot output directly in a game.

following up on the last thing, i thought i'd talk a little bit about how i see systems of rules as art objects. basically, to me, a game system is an art object, but it is also an art object which can only be fully apprehended through play. the structure may be visible, but the themes will not be.
