niggas said I ain't shipping smh
I was up working on this one with Mr. Deepseek (Rick and Morty anyone? lol). This is partly getting parity with the features kept in livtet.olamaelcu.net/ by @olamaelcu.net and then going back to add them in. Some custom stuff I had to drop (emojis per shelf, color coding, etc).
Livtet — Your library, everywhereLivtet Web — hosted multi-tenant library managerlivtet.olamaelcu.netOlamaelcuNew features (going to start cutting releases): - searching for known books (opportunistically looks them up via Open Library and Google Books) - prototype for a labeler to mark someone as an author (or translator, contributor, etc) - librarian registration flow (to edit books) - SHELVING!
Culture is a form of data. History is a form of data. Identity is a form of data. That is enough to highlight that folks who don't have to assert themselves due to them being mainlined in society are ambivalent to the data protection of everyone else (it's the French Revolution all over again).
Jacky!People do care about their data; they happen to not use the same language that tech folks use when they're talking about. And frankly, we as tech folks fucked up by fighting for React and JavaScript everywhere (dev happiness) over privacy and safety (user integrity). It's our fault.
a public #atproto based tool for books is slowly coming out
Olamaelcubiblio.livtet.olamaelcu.net is an experimental #appview that: - indexes information about books - allows for authors to claim books Experimental is the truth; it's still going under active review.
It's feeling like Web 2.0 2.0 in a good way.
BorisThere are many things being built on atproto. Many of them won’t get adopted or thrive. And yes, many are built without user research. It’s OK? Don’t use things you don’t want to. Promote things you like. And build something yourself if you feel like it. Do it the way YOU want it to be.
More reason for a truly social Internet.
Another day of me looking for a lead as I start to get Livtet ready for alpha release (desktop only, Apple is hanging me up). Open for #Rust / #TypeScript / #Svelte / #React work. LLM friendly (worked on one for the US DSVA). www.linkedin.com/posts/jacky-... www.jacky.wtf/work
