Sure but given how authoritarian the two main parties are, they would be likely to change a service to require this ID and make it no longer a voluntary service.

Hello there was a discussion on the idea of mandatory voting in the UK which absolutely will not work unless we remove voter ID and change the voting system and have an official none of the above option.

It’s not good anyway as it’s a removal of a choice.

This would be completely unacceptable in a First Past the Post system. The only way it can be acceptable is in a Proportional Representation system and with a None of the above option.

All you’re doing is taking away more choice when you introduce mandatory voting. It’s also an abysmal idea in a FPTP system.
