Unfortunately 'the characters never change' as a core function kills any possibility of interesting stuff, and 'raising the stakes' is incredibly stupid in what is a sitcom...just everything about this is bad. I'd love to see the idea done elsewhere and better, though. Get a sketch comedy group!

Happened across another thing with this just now. Honestly, I've been saying 'comedy sliders as a concept' would be great for a LONG time. Basically give them evolving characters, nice long arcs, and keep throwing them in pastiche universes! You could have so much fun with it! Make it crazy!

I genuinely don't want them murdered on us soil. Call me weirdly nationalist, but I would like us as a nation to be better than that, at least aspirationally. I want them to suffer. I wouldn't mind them dying. I would prefer them not dying on us soil. I also don't want them raped.

A lot of people still sort of 'identify as Republican ' ( so would prefer to vote that) and are starting to -deeply- resent 1) having to vote against what they were used to doing and 2) having to become aware of politics. I am not excusing these people, but the 'it can't actually' is a thing
