This thread is becoming increasingly traumatizing to read

What I can agree on is that permissionless or open social media is not fundamentally shielded from cheap and misinformed moral outrage. Bluesky shows that and before Bluesky, Mastodon also showed that. The fix, providing a fix even exists, lives somewhere than strictly in the openness.

While I agree with the overall point you’re making, I would be a lot more prudent on this specific claim. I’m not saying it’s necessarily false, or true for that matter. But I would prefer to have methodologically robust scientific papers before making my mind, which I don’t think exists yet.

Wait, I had no idea this UI existed 🤯

@p-hunermund.com As you posted yesterday, it’s pretty clear that Infantino has, indeed, overplayed his hand.

Dear Lord. I'm glad you're ok Michael. Some people are just the worst.

This anti-AI discourse is so silly and so pointless. Performative arguments are such a waste of time.

I'm very curious to see the apps and use cases that will emerge thanks to permissioned data.

I had a similar issue for months, I don't remember how it got fixed. I don't think the Fediverse is that important for Meta to care. I see their attempt at supporting ActivityPub more of a communication gimmick to attract good tech press coverage.

Same icon, used twice on the same page (!), and yet, they do different things (!!). UX design is my passion. This nonsense will make your eyes bleed @louisgrasset.fr…

Their “custom feeds” (which are, in effect, just lists) are unable to show more than like 10 posts or something. If a high-volume account is part of such a list, you can only see posts from like 4 hours ago. And not just on web, it also “works” like that on iOS.

Threads is so shitty that two-factor authentication is technically enabled on my account but for some reason, it fails on Safari and Chrome. Meta's ability to ship shitty apps at scale is truly unmatched.
