20. I look for engaging writing, nuanced, characterization, and plots that mostly makes sense. If the writing is engaging, or the characters are well written, I can forgive a lot in the plot department

19. I'm not gonna answer this question because honestly, I haven't read a lot of super popular books in the last five or so years.

18. I don't read a lot of historical fiction, but I do read historical romance. I enjoy Victorian And Regency eras. I would like to see more romances that take in the medieval and renaissance eras.

17. It's been a long time since I've read actual children's books so I'm not sure what my top five would be. My Niblings are all into late MG and YA books right now. I'm not sure what I would recommend here either as I only read what they read.

16. I have read 75 books this year, this includes rereading and reading new books. This also includes audiobooks as well as e-books and paper books.

15. I do a lot of recommending of books on Bluesky, usually as repost of an author's post of their book. I will only recommend books I have read. Mostly these are books. I have enjoyed, but sometimes I will recommend books. I didn't enjoy because I believe other people will.

14. I never dog ear books. I do write in and highlight my non-fiction books. And I do have copies of some fiction books that I mark up as I study storytelling techniques. Or as in the case of my Waverly Jones books, I have copies I mark to try to figure out the overarching mystery.

13. I do have a Goodreads, but as soon as Kobo adds the ability to sync with StoryGraph, I will be moving my books over there. I don't use Goodreads as a social tool so I don't generally share my username.

12. We read a lot of Shakespeare in high school and I enjoyed the place we read. I also enjoyed To Kill a Mockingbird. I did not enjoy Dickens at all.

11. I enjoy nonfiction books about psychology, history, sociology, food, religion, storytelling, trauma, and healing, knitting. I read wide and I read varied. 

10. I do not have a guilty face because I don't believe any book is a guilty fave. I have problematic faves, and I'm well aware of what makes them problematic and only recommend them with a long string of caveats and content warnings. See Pern series.
