I keep going to do one of my cool normal hobbies such as look for a rare bird and then I get to the place and skulk up next to all the middle aged men who are dressed just like me and there to do the same thing and come face to face with the reality of my lifestyle

this but can we draw in a 21 year old off to the side following you around hissing “you’re literally old go die why are you outside and doing things it’s so cringe”
Sarah AndersenI am also curious with supplemental Qs 1) do you have children or caretaking roles 2) how often can you afford/do you buy takeout or prepared food 3) how often do you exercise 4) how often do you see friends/family you don’t live with
Kenneth F. Duggan 🇨🇦Academics who write during term (i.e. while teaching): 1. How many classes do you teach per term? 2. How often do you write (e.g. once/wk, when you can, etc.)? 3. When do you write (e.g. weekend, morning, at night, etc.)? 4. What's the biggest barrier(s) to you writing? 5. Do you have any tips?
Moving from hunching over the sewing machine to hunch over my embroidery and somehow surprised by how my neck hurts despite having a clear memory of my grandmother literally telling me verbatim “don’t spend your life hunched over a sewing machine and embroidery so your neck doesn’t end up like this”
I have one universal wildfire escape tip and it is LEAVE. the moment authorities say evacuate. earlier, even! it won’t hurt you to evacuate early! stuff is replaceable, people are not. you are not a firefighter. chant that to yourself as you grab essentials and go.
madeline odenti've outrun more than a few wildfires in my time and i thought of typing up some advice on doing that but honestly what can i even say because. this many wildfires in regions that do not normally get wildfires like this is a direct result of bad policies and failure to act on climate change.
my biggest pet peeve is when created slang/cursing has a bunch of complex multisyllabic elements. when humans say things emphatically they veer toward single syllables and the more often we say things the more they get squished together Ex Pierce Brown’s “bloodydamn” wld become bloodamn rapidly.
John ScalziIn my considered opinion, so much created slang/cursing comes across as cringe precisely because it doesn't sound like anything anyone would ever have coming out of their mouth, this especially true of adding/changing letters in "fuck"
