So begins travel for Otakon for another year. Can’t wait to hang with so many people I don’t get to see very often.

Creepy Kamille Bidan isn’t real, he can’t hurt you, but he can still make you feel really uncomfortable when he’s on a T-shirt.

That means a lot to hear. I had a lot of fun putting it together. I’m glad the Mecha Kaikan is continuing this year, so there’s a really good home for this idea and maybe it’ll keep inspiring people to do more creative mecha content.

I’ll try to post a few more reminders, but if you’re headed to #Otakon I’ve got two panels I’ll be presenting. Gundam Merch has been getting updated (and there’s still way more stuff than I can possibly fit!) and Mecha Soundtracks is a brand new one I’ve made. Hope you can come to one or both!

Where are you finding cards? I’m trying to limit myself to two boosters per set (one go collect, one to open for curiosity) but trying to get stuff from a reasonable store in person and not a scalper.

Discussion I was having with a couple people last night as I worked on panels; In anime, when is it considered an insert song vs just a regular song on the soundtrack that happens to have lyrics? (Warning: This can quickly turn into a “Is a hot dog a sandwich?” type of debate)

If you really want one to try and puzzle out, examine stuff in the FLCL soundtrack. Tracks like “Crazy Sunshine” and “Little Busters” totally FEEL like insert songs because of when they’re used but “Instant Music” doesn’t quite feel like it when it’s played.

I don’t think there is a definitive answer because every time you set one parameter, you can almost immediately find something that breaks that rule.

I do not need it or plan to buy it but I’m WAY too amused by the accessory of this animated series Spider-Man Mondo has at their booth at SDCC.

And betting this already has production for a plush being planned

New Gundam series visuals have me intrigued. Bottom left looks like a Strike head and shoulders on an Aerial torso meant to have eyes and both like Gurren Lagann. The other Gundam I’m very curious about the different arm

Maybe I’ll be better about promoting my panels for Otakon earlier this year. Anyway, I’m updating “The Wild World of Gundam Merchandise” and trying out a mecha soundtracks panel idea that spun out of another panel I ran. Both will be in the Mecha Kaikan programming track.

Finally another night to build on the MG Barbatos Lupus now both arms are done and the effect part for the left shoulder is in place too. Posing this thing once it’s completed is going to be FUN.

Okay maybe people on here can help me find something that's been stuck in the back of my head for YEARS. I had some early 2000s CPM release with a trailer for Angel Sanctuary; it had some "darkwave" track they literally pulled off MP3.com. For the life of me I have never found that trailer since.
