And studies have shown we've only grown more left-wing as we've gotten older.

TBCH I would have been fucked w/o the Meta money. I was intermittently employed thru contracts for 13mo before starting that job in May 2025. Getting paid ridiculous tech company salary gave me a big parachute for this year. We were on the brink of moving out before that. Thanking my lucky stars.

I was reading that Wix actually is a fair bit better in terms of scripting and leaving WYSIWYG land a bit. I'll look into it. Still doesn't solve the problem of platform precarity, but if it nets me a cheaper annual bill that's a win. Good opportunity to redesign the ol' portfolio, too.

Does the "made with Wix" header go away if you're paying for it? Also, my intent isn't really to go from one bespoke platform to another, I'd prefer just to upload the page from a local client myself.
