Scuba diver, SF reader, father, cyclist. Yorkshire immigrant.

Even then: Premise: the Tories (and Reform) are horrible terfs. Response: Labour must be horrible terfs. Premise: the right keeps saying that immigration will destroy the country. Response: agree entirely. Goddess forbid they actually hype their progressive achievements.

Have you looked at Labour policies recently?

Well, that and Putin not being an asshole.

About the time of the Kursk I got thinking about Thunderbirds. They had a Thunderbird 4 on a ship, 4 days sailing away. They didn't need a rocket to send a guy to assess the site. They did need Thunderbird 2. The means of getting heavy gear wherever it was needed in a hurry.

Nobody knew she was there.

I never thought the leopard would eat my fiancée's face.

I thought better of you.

Well that sucks. Won't be listening.

TBF, contempt for the paedophilie enablers should be the patriotic option.

Insurance should be a route in. If they're more likely to kill them they should be hammered by underwriters. I assume that's why we don't see bull bars any more.

I'm guessing this dude isn't old enough to remember the smoking section at the back of the plane, and their smoke, which inexplicably failed to remain in that section.

Also 99p for today only Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. Yes I know that OSC has morphed into a ghastly person, and the more recent books of his I've read were very tedious. But he was good once. www.amazon.co.uk/Enders-Game-... www.kobo.com/gb/en/ebook/...

I bloody hate the way potter tat has overrun The Shambles in York. It's a lovely post of the city, colonised by ugly plastic rubbish that's got bugger all to do with the city. Nice trans friendly SF bookshop just round the corner though.

Or where a game session is entirely infodump with the PCs unable to do anything but listen? Or where the big confrontation between god and evil occurs and it's the GM doing both sides in different silly voices while the PCs watch. I've been the bad GM in most of those scenarios.

It had many aspects of bad role-playing games. You know that thing where the GM has put years into creating his perfect world, and the players aren't that into it, but their mate really is, they're there, but it's all a bit flat? Or where the GM pulls and now his new GF is ultra important?

It was very easy to find in the UK, where I live. Indeed I remember a point early on where US fans were saying they were going to fly out to London to watch the end of season 1 because it was coming out a week or two before the US airing. Don't know if any did.

I remember many people at the time saying it was the greatest TV show of its time, who when pressed, admitted that they didn't watch any other TV.

Minor columnist by the end. At one point he was setting the news agenda on the flagship Radio 4 breakfast show.

That's UK/IE speed!
