I wonder how many copies of the first revision of "Left Bros." Super Mario Bros. 3 were printed. 10,000 is what I'm able to source without citation. If true; Nintendo probably just used an early localisation copy to get the game on store shelves, then they printed later revisions soon after.

Are you shitting me? The non-Tengen official version of NES Gauntlet doesn't display the Game Genie code screen properly. I guess it does the same 4-way mirroring that the black unofficial Tengen cartridge employs. Was hoping it would be compatible. Letting other people save $20 wasn't a waste.

Wonder how many PAL and NTSC games for various systems were deliberately programmed using this or methods as a form of region-lockout obfuscation, or were done this way because it was only designed because it was the target region system. Not sure; the list of NES games are virtually non-existant.
