Tomorrow morning is our Hearst Castle tour. We are jazzed!! At least, I am. The kiddo is fairly excited. The cute bf is just happy to be here. We are all looking forward to Morro Bay and its cooler temperatures tomorrow afternoon.

We had a mellow night after a surprisingly delicious restaurant right next door to the hotel. Hid in the AC. The cute bf and kiddo are passed out and have been since 8pm. I did 100% of the driving but still keyed up from it methinks.

It's finally below 90°F in Paso Robles. Omg.

We made it to Paso Robles! ...where it is currently 108°F... 🥵🥵🥵 Found our hotel. Eating nearby at a super cute place.

Shout out to the Arco in Downey where we just stopped to pee and pick up snacks. The bathroom stank of piss but it had both TP & soap and featured a giant carving of FUCK ICE over the sink. Props.

Why do I still get the song Charlie and his brother played in Drive Shaft on Lost stuck in my head?🎶 I mean, it's only been over 16 years since that show ended. I did watch every episode, live as it came out, on my pal Ryan's futon. Maybe 5-6 of us, every Weds. Lots and LOTS of weed.

Dude *BOTH* cats are super pissed. They know we are leaving. Haru charged the door and tried to get out, which she hasn't done since we lived in the tiny El Cajon place. Kira wriggled into my daughter's bed frame and hid for hours.

I am starting to unwind a bit after a frustrating work day, capping off a bizarre work week. But we are packing. Leaving in the morning for Paso Robles & Morro Bay & Hearst Castle via San Simeon this weekend. All my shit is off til we get back. 🏖🏖🏖

I worked til my off time at 4pm. My boss hung around the lab from 3:50-4p and didn't look at me once. Then left. I stayed 5mins late and took the remaining personal items left off the walls. Now I DON'T GOTTA RETURN TIL WEDS!

87 minutes til I am off work for the next 4 days, then remote on Tuesday. But who's counting?

I got 8.5/10 points on last night's late assignment. Which is the max bc she takes off 15% per day and it was 1 day past my extension date. I did a WhatIf scenario and if i do the extra credit and get max points i will get an A. If i miss up to 2 full pts will get A- more than that would = B.

Cheering up just a bit by gathering the rest of my small personal items in my cubicle. All that's left really are a few conference lanyards with enamel pins on them, a small collection of cards from various supervisors and mentors, and some printed copies of my certificates.

Physically processing items and also in a Zoom hosted by my fellow members of the Library Diversity & Inclusion Committee. Mostly just listening. It's to launch the new Land Acknowledgement guide we developed. (A subcommittee within our group, not me. I didn't work on it. But nifty!)

I sent my VERY DETAILED and picture-filled email already earlier. I hit Send then went to lunch and put my Slack to inactive on my phone. But now I gotta go back. Gulp. At least His Douchebagginess is remote today. Which means he def already saw it. I shouldn't be SCARED of my BOSS.

I had 2 joyful meetings today then worked on my email reply to Evil Boss listing some shit he thought I fucked up. It was like 7 things and he sounded annoyed bc he spent time adding barcodes to journals. Which is a student employee job.
