Their drives are dominated by self-interest, maintaining control and dominance, and getting pleasure from creating hostility and conflict. They deliberately escalate petty disagreements to outright conflicts to wars to validate their perceived power and control over people.

Due to their sadism and need for retribution after narcissistic injury, they get satisfaction out of conflict and violence. Malignant narcissists don’t have drives or motivations based in humanity, greater good or “love thy neighbor.”

The truth is their “expertise” is completely feigned. Malignant narcissists are conscienceless. They have no emotional connection or empathy towards suffering, destruction or people dying.

They engage in magical thinking to having outright delusions (fixed, false beliefs) of grandeur. Malignant narcissists think they are experts and all-knowing without any commensurate knowledge, training or experience. Trump famously said he knew more than all the generals.

Malignant narcissists are grandiose. Grandiosity refers to having an exaggerated, unrealistic sense of superiority, power, identity, or significance. In other words, malignant narcissists think they have traits and powers they don't possess.
