Not too dissimilar to a concept in a book I was writing ~15 years ago :) To continue improvements in wireless bandwidth, transmission has had to become highly directional high power, with negotiation to prevent interference. The AI deliberately uses this to induce signals in buses to hack devices.

The value of all Ford factories is ~$40B. Ford's enterprise value is ~$180B. You build the factories *because* you expect to earn a profit off of them. If you lose the factories, *you have no profit*. Your value is only your name. Which is a tiny fraction of what it was.
