My first racing game I spent any time trying to figure out was _Test Drive_ by Accolade (1987) (CGA) for DOS.
Sasha's Retrobytes 🏳️⚧️I think my first racing game would have been Kikstart 2 on my friend's ZX Speccy? For traditional racing games, it would have to be Pitstop II on C64. Came with one of the Beau Jolly compilation packs and I remember playing it a lot.
