It’s inexcusable but utterly in character that National Democratic leadership isn’t requiring an answer to Mitch McConnell’s status on the nation’s behalf. Even in a coma he’s better at this than them. He wins. They lose. We lose. As it’s always been.

Until the world’s most powerful corrupt President called the president of the world’s most corrupt sporting organization for a favor the joy from this World Cup summer had allowed us and the world to forget, for a moment, the awful old men who run the world.

It’s unsurprising but shameful nonetheless that Sen. McConnell’s office won’t tell his own constituents what is happening. He’s leaving office, and this life, the way he lived it. As a disappointment.
