I knew her well enough to hear the nervous jitter in her voice but I don’t think anyone else noted it. (They were too busy being nervous about me.)

This would have all been a lot easier if I wasn’t so worried about the stupid humans.

It’s not like I didn’t already think this situation was really fucking bad, but I was beginning to think it was way fucking worse.
