Charlottesville: a place it rains

Tomorrow the city of Charlottesville will look to approve $4 million towards homeless services, including emergency shelter and housing supports.

Went by the Biltmore house and started to think about how one day there will be museums to the current gilded age. And even in the midst of their hagiography of Bezos, Zuck, garages, et al they’ll say “Musk - that fucking moron.”

Stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. They’ve mastered thin wall and loudly closing door technology.

I was just talking with @sgillikin.bsky.social about poor test scores in the Charlottesville City Schools. The one big takeaway for me is that CCS needs a clearly articulated strategy to address this issue that is then implemented at the classroom level. Not sure this is currently happening…
