Which also results in viewing woman as nothing more than wombs…. I’d say I’m more optimistic than you at least in the long term, because of the connection between LGBTQ & women’s rights. That’s a large hunk of the population that’s being asked to surrender autonomy.

I mean, what we’re fighting for is a democratic system where disagreements about ideas are settled via free & fair elections. So, yeah, happy to fight together now so we can disagree the way normal citizens do in the future.

But part of the decrease in support is because of the anti-trans stuff—so it’s working for them, unfortunately.

For me it’s more like: This person cannot identify a scam & doesn’t understand how the law works. The big motivator among the anti-LGBTQ people is ending gay marriage. But nobody supports that, so they’ve sought what seems to be a weaker spot to chip away at.

I think part of it is that most are going after trans people because they think they’re vulnerable. I think if you scratched the surface of the anti-trans people, they want to end gay marriage, but that’s a non-starter, so they chip away at LGBTQ rights where it’s easier. Not logic but tactics.
