#Gaza: As this violence from Israeli forces continues, death and injury can strike at any moment. Children who are trying to survive in already dire conditions are being critically injured on a regular basis. There is no respite from the fear that people are living with.

“MSF teams do their best to ensure no weapons are brought into the healthcare facilities where we work to keep staff and patients safe... No patient should be a victim of violence while they are in a hospital seeking medical care,” says Benoit Vasseur, our Country Coordinator.

One caregiver was shot in the leg in the triage area. A patient was assaulted in the emergency room. Medical activities were also disrupted as a result and seven patients were treated because of the incident.

Armed fighting broke out between families near our Al Zawayda field hospital. Related casualties were brought to the hospital. The violence then escalated and people involved came into the hospital.

#Gaza: We strongly condemn violence that resulted in two people being injured inside the premises of our field hospital on the evening of July 8, 2026. Hospitals must remain a safe space where patients can receive care and staff can operate without fear.
