No, it's because this country contains awful people who voted for this and excluded Democrats from power. What part of being in the minority in Congress do you not understand? It's easier to blame Democrats than face the fact that a lot of voters are bad people.
nufcnufI think this is related to polls that show the Democratic Party and its brand have low favorability. I feel that's not because people dislike Dem/lib principles. It's because Dem leaders and lawmakers don't use the levers of power, including their platform, to do what they say the country needs.
Tom is correct. The first, most basic, rule of working in politics is understanding that the typical voter is not nearly as consumed by politics as you and the people around you are. Most people are very disconnected from it.

Oh, I think that's quite clear and the primary reason why the closure of USAID has to be considered a crime against humanity, a deliberate act of genocide deserving of punishment as such. This is a death penalty offense under 18 USC 1091 but requires specific intent, which is hard to prove.
