Great example of the difference between data-driven and data-informed. We need to be data-informed but the data don't tell us everything. Context is important.

great way to describe why Elias fails, is that baseball creates the numbers, but it doesn't run on numbers. It really feels like there is no baseball mind helping to making decisions for this team. Letting the game on field be played by algorithms over humans is never gonna succeed.

I, too, am allergic to Bactrim. I have not eaten an uncooked vegetable since this mess started. Grateful to Matt Courtland on Bluesky for their thread that informed me. And my nutritionist for helping me brainstorm solutions (gonna peel my own farmers market carrots under lots of water).

What’s important to know is that prevention is key for cyclosporiasis because the ONLY surefire cure is Bactrim. Unfortunately many people (ME) are allergic to sulfa drugs and the only way you find that out is when your tongue swells in your mouth and you break out in hives like I did

Today started with no AC in the building, a stench of unknown origin, and the continuing saga of a mouse infestation. And then it went downhill from there. Time to unplug and start over tomorrow.

They need to fire him ASAP.

Mike Elias stood aside Adley Rutschman after the 2019 draft, marking him as the start of a bright future. Now, Elias has sold his All-Star, acknowledging yet another failed roster. Why should the Orioles keep trusting this guy to fix his own mistakes? www.thebanner.com/sports/oriol...

T Wells too?!? We had Kremer, Rutsch, and Wells jerseys/shirts because we loved them. I have zero interest in spending another dime on merch with players names because they'll break my heart. Losing Trey was terrible but good for him. Losing Ced, awful. But ADLEY!?! Unconscionable.

I hate Mike Elias with the fire of 10,000 suns.

Vacation is lovely and relaxing and all that stuff. But it is also lovely to be reunited with my own pillow that is just the right firmness.

UGH. We can't get past the deadline fast enough for me!

Elliot Blake

The Orioles are really vexing me right now. You can’t win committing three errors in a game! Especially when you can’t hit against a guy like Skubal. And I read this morning they’re willing to trade Cowser, their best defensive player, not to mention a fan favorite. Don’t do it, Orioles.

Check on your IR folks, #highered bsky. It's a rough summer for some.

The Department of Education issued a notice that it is rescinding all Title VI regulations that refer to disparate impact. Citing Sandoval and Callais, ED states that discrimination must be intentional to violate Title VI. www.federalregister.gov/documents/20...

Listened to @jonboeckenstedt.bsky.social talk about the SAT with @jackstripling.bsky.social on my way home. Had lots of "Yes! That!" moments. The @chronicle.com 's College Matters podcast does a great job of exploring issues.
