We have fallen so far for the right-wing agitprop that we are excusing people in public life from the need to show basic human decency. I cannot get over how damning this is for everyone in the organization and their defender.

I'm spoiled as a Packers fan in many ways, but Vince Lombardi made very clear in the 1960s that anyone questioning the manhood of a player known to be gay would be kicked off the team and told hotels the team would only use them if black and white players were welcomed equally.

If I were a professional athlete or coach, I would be furious at being made to look like this. Don't you people have any damn pride or dignity?
