Gagnant is a #MSX game released by Humming Bird Soft in 1986. It’s quite good, with nice mechanics (enemies stay dead, destructible environments), but was released broken. The good ending couldn’t be reached, and the high-score feature didn’t work. @larsthe18th.bsky.social has now fixed it!

A perfectly normal early English localization of Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished - The Omen. It was released in the West for the Apple IIGS and DOS under the title Ancient Land of Ys. Nothing unusual here. Nope, not at all!

What a pleasant surprise! In 1998, Masakuni Mitsuhashi, one of the developers of Theseus (MSX), decided to remake the game and include it as one of the sample applications in "GAME BASIC for SEGA SATURN". I had no idea this even existed! It's quite charming.

I recently learned about the AX series for the NEC PC-6001 computer, published by ASCII in the early 80s. I became interested in the AX series after learning that "Quest: The Adventure" from AX-5 is a precursor to "Iligks Episode IV" (MSX). Time to explore the PC-6001! 🤓
