On the subject of food, quite a few 80s and 90s movies would treat now-mainstream fare as exotic or snobby. Sushi and cappuccinos, for example. 80% of the supermarket lettuce was iceberg, at least where I was. On the other hand, stupid flavored creamers didn’t hog half the dairy aisle

I actually managed to track down some of my old favorites for purchase. I get that libraries have to cull books but my preference will always be dusty and obscure stacks

Yeah, processed foods generally. Remember when Cinnamon Toast Crunch was absolutely encrusted in sugar? Nom nom nom But it is nice to get good imported kimchi at Costco

I miss my childhood local library, which couldn’t afford many new books and was heavily stocked with titles 20 to 50 years old at the time. I think I have been subconsciously rebuilding it, now that I think about it. Still keeping all modern medicine though 😜

It’s ok to sigh for some nice things and to have fond memories of a nice childhood but let’s not be silly here

I like old timey entertainment, I love historical research but I am staying right here in the present day with precision surgeries (including robots!), trusty vaccines, antibiotics and more

Both are new to me so I will roast them up in a couple of days and post a taste test

I am thinking a stuffed pumpkin with seeds and dried cranberries and sage and then a pumpkin custard served in the shell

They’re naturally small (about the size of a large mango) and prolific, so they work great for my not-the-best-melon-country area

This kind like warm weather, so it’s best in summer
