The absolutely delulu idea that you, an adopter, should be adorned with the power and judgement to decide which children are "saved" and which children are not. The idea that you, a nobody, can pay $30,000 for a child, and feel good about it.

"But if you can save just one child from poverty, by adopting them, then it's worth it." Who are you to decide, which child gets to be lifted out of poverty? Who gave you that power? Does it not keep you up at night, that you took one child and left all the others behind? 🥚
