In the last 48 hours, Saint Paulites have learned about multiple allegations that Mayor Kaohly Her engaged in sexual harassment and misconduct toward city employees. These allegations are serious, and must be fully and thoroughly investigated.

Re-visiting Justice Sotomayor’s dissent in Grants Pass. The fact that but for two votes on the Supreme Court this could have been a majority opinion—and that so much suffering could have been avoided—is simply devastating.

One positive note to end the week on: next week, the City Council will begin the process of considering a repeal of the city’s “youth minimum wage,” which allows workers between the ages of 14 and 17 to be paid a sub-minimum-wage rate for their first 90 days of employment.

At 12:30 on Wednesday, 07/22, Assistant Mayor Cedrick Baker will be presenting to the City Council’s Public Safety Committee on the Mayor’s Office’s plans related to encampment enclosures. The public is encouraged to attend, but there will not be a public hearing.

Avoiding both fresh vegetables and outdoor air because of the threat they pose to human health feels like a new level of apocalyptic.

For years, community members both living in and outside of the city’s encampments, along with government and nonprofit partners, have done everything possible to keep the encampments safe, sanitary, and resourced.

One cool thing is that I know Donald Trump is never going to root for a Minnesota team. Gives me a bit of hope for some championships in the near future.

Imagine seeing this beautiful picture of these perfect children and feeling anything other than joy. It’s a level of soullessness and inhumanity that is hard to wrap my head around.

Is it dramatic to say this is the craziest thing that’s ever happened in the history of the world
