Right. I'm sure when Nolan spent the past 3 years of his life adapting Homer's tale, his goal was to "perfectly craft a culture war wedge" suited to the toxic discourse of Summer 2026. With perals of wisdom like these, NYT is sorely gonna miss Douthat's reflexive anti-anti-consrvative hot takes. 🙄
