I think the king of Great Britain recently decided to share some of his tax affairs.

It will be very interesting to see if him and the new chancellor will abandon or embrace this plan. As you quite correctly say - it’s a test. If he fails then the claims of “just more of the same” will be fully justified. He will face a number of these tests too, on many different policies.

Don’t be so ridiculous, that’s far to easy and nowhere near as controversial as it has to be. What’s worse, apart from the dreadful human tragedy again, is that this just adds more to the distraction away from the #FarageBung which is exactly why he did his Navy interceptor speech yesterday.

It has definitely become more socially acceptable to use racist language. I’ve been through the period where (70s onwards) it all became very PC and was driven underground. Now it’s back in the open and yes, characters like these two and more led the way. Johnson laughed it off, Farage is guarded.

To be fair, he does follow the American trend for very long and large jackets, far from the tailored suits we wear in the UK. So plenty of room for his sponsors, they have to pay for the space, the bigger the more money.

He has some very serious issues and yet he’s still left to get away with this. The only people who can stop him are the American people and I’m afraid I don’t trust them to do the right thing.

So not being part of it places much more emphasis on the UK having to sort out its own problems, not as a part of a larger and more balanced European wide approach. That’s what’s been lost.

I can only agree. This assumption that a ReformUK government is almost a foregone conclusion is ridiculous. They are incredibly fallible and perhaps we are just seeing the populist media beginning to turn on them, as they see that they will end up backing the wrong horse. It’s not inevitable.

It’s the typical populist playbook. Distraction. Or, create a lie that’s even bigger than the lie itself. At the moment, it’s all about distraction. When this fails, which it will, then the lies will start.

Interesting. None of my close friends or acquaintances have ever admitted to voting/supporting the Tories or ReformUK. That doesn’t mean there aren’t any, it’s just that they don’t feel comfortable telling anyone. In the US they make it very easy, they wear MAGA hats. What’s the UK equivalent?
