Jareth is incredibly selfless compared to the Gentleman with the Thistledown Hair. Looked at in totality, he's one of the kinder depictions of the Fey more or less everywhere.

Well, no. But the Vingean singularity is still (unlike the overblown "and then humans become irrelevant" panic that's become of it) pretty useful; a line in the sand for "and then they're enough smarter/more effective/unpredictable than us that we're just making stuff up" shifts, even if in fact,

I mean, on the one hand, that's...not what a singularity means. Bear in mind that the term has mutated so much since its conception--But the Vingean singularity is when technology changes society so much that it becomes impossible to -predict-; that is, when it becomes hard for SF writers.
