Got together with folks in Phoenix to talk about my new initiative to help young men. Bottom line: Too many boys grow up without male role models. So, I’m working to get more men teaching, coaching, mentoring, and volunteering so they can be the role models our communities need.

I was feeling the exact opposite when I saw the extra “s” used. I googled and apparently both are correct/acceptable. Likely dependent on style guide.
