I'm 95% convinced the problem with making a new Blade movie is that they can't fit him into the wider MCU, they no longer just make superhero movies any more, it all has to be part of some bigger cinematic universe and continuity, so it can't be a story about Blade killing vampires with a sword.

The new Strokes record, however? I don't care what PR spin they're putting on the bad autotune. It sounds like a crutch. Julian Casablancas clearly wanted to write a Pulp album? But he was never able to sing like Jarvis Cocker, even in his youth. I doubt it's deeper than that a ham-fisted fix.
