I thought that this style of reviewing and ranking was agreed to be bad already in the 00s, but apparently alive and well at Meta

Agreed, this is what idealism meets “didn’t do any homework” looks like. Should sanctions be dropped on North Korea? Should the US just withdraw from everywhere in a year and watch what happens? Foreign policy is now threatened by the right and the left

Agreed: the military leadership merely reflects the political system. The political system wants loyalty first and foremost, doesn’t want honest debate and wants absolute control. No amount of changing the military will help when the political system stays the way it is
