Every now and then I bring the 7yo to the LEGO design office to let him develop his personal playtheme, but I worry that it's giving him an unrealistic picture of what employment is like

"Preserving ambiguity" is an inside joke. Why a chi orb? Why lions? Because Schrödinger requires a decaying particle, and dead and alive versions of the same cat interfering. Their shared world only lasts as long as that superposition remains unresolved. How's that for obscure Chima lore
Mike RayhawkFirst off, a disclaimer: While this is a funny story, I don't know anything concrete about the development of Legends of Chima. Just like I tried to do with Ninjago, I've avoided finding out how much influence I had on Chima, if any. I've always thought it was funnier to preserve the ambiguity.
I asked Manda who our narrator would be, and it was amazing how fast we both said "Fran Drescher!" at the same time. Except I was saying "I'm thinking Fran Drescher" and she was saying "NOT FRAN DRESCHER" Anyway the actual answer is Natasha Lyonne
You suddenly get a narrator describing your life and there’s no way to turn it off - everyone can hear it. While shopping, at work, at home, with friends - the voice narrating your every move goes on. Who do you hope is the voice of this narrator?
All the images from yesterday's long thread. TL,DR; you'll never guess how I was spending the 1990s, twenty years before Chima happened
Mike RayhawkI was just talking with other LEGO old-timers about the shenanigans we'd get up to in the early 2000s, and I confessed the time I maybe might've accidentally got LEGO to turn my grade-school project into a TV show and product line in a year I wasn't even working there. ( Long thread 🧵)
