Their quasi religious belief that this IS truly revolutionary is just a sunk cost fallacy mixed with potent delusions of their own brilliance. So if you're starting to give up hope and go "ugh" remember, your instincts that this is bullshit are totally right and those bros can fuck right off.

They are billionaires who are SURROUNDED by yes-men who just found their perfect little box that tells them "Yes you are in fact brilliant and revolutionary, a true business genius" and they listen to it because the one dude going "Emperor, bro, you ain't go no clothes" got fired.

On top of that, yo these tech CEOs are *absolutely* drinking their own Kool-Aid. Satya talks to Copilot all the time and wants agents to be around. Jensen Huang genuinely thinks so massive $5,000 box "to run your own agent" is actually affordable for people. They can, in fact, just be wrong.

These synthetic text generators are just products. Remember, the Cybertruck was supposed to be revolutionary too and look how that turned out. Nothing is inevitable. Satya Nadella can make Copilot fetch stuff for him all day long, but that doesn't mean he'll make fetch happen.

The point I'm trying to get at is that anyone who is constantly prattling on about how it's an inevitable future? That's because they sunk about a half a trillion dollars into it and NEED you to believe it is an inevitable future. It isn't.

The people who are using it - say, asking ChatGPT about hair styles of characters in cultures? Fuuuuuuck off. Moreover, that's a dumbass decision because if you don't already know the answer *you don't know if it is wrong*. And genAI *will hallucinate*. It's a mathematical certainty.

If it was so useful and amazing, would Microsoft have to keep putting ever more intrusive interfaces to make you accidentally click on Copilot? It's like being stalked by a sycophantic Clippy. Who, ironically enough, *still has not been useful to me*. I've genuinely tried to find use cases.

If you're a creative working on creative stuff, don't let that shit anywhere near your creative work. It's a poisoned chalice that's not worth it. As it is, I have to use Copilot for the dayjob (well, it's on anyway. And jfc it is annoying).

It turns out if you have something that's useful, people will use it. And for the vast majority of people *it's not*. They are just expecting we will foot the power bill, accept the data centers, and if they repeat "revolution" enough we will bow down to their brilliance. Nah.

That's the thing that pisses me off about all of the push for AI: The *audacity* and the disdain. The assumption that people are simply too stupid and stubborn to not notice a useful tool. Which is funny. Nobody had to keep saying "The iphone arrived" or "Smartphones are useful."
