My team and I enjoyed lunch and the after party with Rolling Thunder Chapter 2 New York yesterday. They held their 22nd Annual Frankie Towkar Appice Memorial 3 Boro Run. Our veterans deserve our support every day for the sacrifices they have made.

Started the weekend at Family and Community Wellness Day in Bensonhurst, then joined my friends at Todt Hill Day (the fashion show was a fun time!), chatted with families at Summer Streets, and ended the day at the 25th Annual Harmony Day in West Brighton. A great day in the district!

Fortunately, the police and a bystander acted quickly and were able to apprehend the suspect before this frightening incident got worse. Hate has no place in our great city or nation. We need to come together and realize there is more that unites us than divides us.

Earlier today, a 51-year old man was arrested for stabbing two men on the UWS. In two separate incidents, the suspect attacked an Asian man near Central Park & a Jewish man near a synagogue. The motive of the attacks is being investigated by the NYPD as they may be potential hate crimes.

Wishing all of our Jewish neighbors who are observing Tisha B’Av a meaningful fast.

I know we say this every election, but this is the most consequential election of our lifetime. We, the people, will determine how our country and district moves forward. It is up to all of us.

The NYPD and federal agents are investigating the incident. We are grateful for law enforcement officials for maintaining security and keeping us safe.

This morning, a man was taken into custody for setting off an incendiary device outside 26 Federal Plaza in downtown Manhattan. Officers apprehended the man immediately following the explosion and thankfully, no one was seriously injured and there were no reported fatalities.
