I'm definitely willing to give this longer R-rated cut a second chance. We saw the original film at a midnight release screening with about 20 X-Files fans and no one left happy. I am hoping they tweaked the "Scully research montage" where she writes "STEM CELL RESEARCH" in big letters.

I want to believe…again. #TheXFiles youtu.be/vbmA8V65czY?...

Scott Wiener has pushed some good bills forward for California, particularly with establishing healthcare access to vaccines and treatments in the face of CDC/FDA/NHS collapse. But this loses my support.

Caræsten 🇵🇸

Scott Wiener is so fucking creepy!!! making an AI chatbot of your woman opponent so she says all the things your campaign wants her to say is deeply misogynistic!!! holy shit!!!

In "small but helpful things" I have been surprised at how much using resistance bands instead of free weights has helped me specifically target muscle groups for my shoulders and core. This is my journey to undo the damage of "20 years of hockey with no stretching"

here’s a little game… pick a band/artist, and name your top however many songs you can do, limited to one per album

want to be clear there are absolutely big differences b/t Dems & GOP, don’t ascribe to all-the-same, and that said, it’s awfully telling how many high profile Dems now profess to prefer a Republican in office than a progressive and how that appears to be driven by who is closer to their values

Shit seems like a LOT today and also a heat wave is about to cast a magic missile on California, so here is a dog who has played too hard after breakfast

When I was playing in bands/DJing around the Bay Area indie rock scene circa 2000s, I got flyers made by a friend who wanted to build up her design portfolio with fun projects. It's similar to how I built up my copywriting portfolio by volunteering for animal rescues. The resources are there.

I don't have any patience for the "but we're poor" argument for bands using AI for posters and publicity. Try to think back to roughly 3 years ago when you somehow coped without it.

I'd say that most (80-90%?) of the time people I know get covid, it's usually right after travel and an event with a lot of face to face time in extracurricular stuff (parties, karaoke, etc). FWIW my anecdotal flu stories tend to be more school/work. Both suck and can cause post-viral illness.

There's always a non-negligible number of folks that go from SDCC to GenCon. I hate to break it to you, but COVID is still a thing, conventions are still super spreaders, and you should still test and wear masks if you care about community at all!

I hate that we've memory-holed 2020. My spring 2020 experience was 1) seeing ambulances pulling out dying seniors from a downtown Palo Alto center 2) the GOP's claim of "brutal lockdown" was remote school for only spring/fall 2020, with masked return in Jan-and that was far stricter than most places

Back in 2020, as a pediatric hematologist married to a physician, we signed up to volunteer in a field hospital for patients with COVID. We wrote our wills and worried about getting our kids sick. I posted about terrifying outcomes in kids and received death threats. Fauci is a goddamn hero.

Someone is happy about that Macklin Celebrini extension.

I will protect my god damn em dashes, even if you leave me burning and dismembered on the lava shores of Mustafar.

Authors and journalists are doing more first-person (hello 2010s blogging) and embracing "mistakes" in writing to prove they're not chatbots. There's even an “anti-Grammarly" app that leaves in typos and signs off "sent from my iPhone" to create more authenticity: www.wired.com/story/more-t...
