I'm still working through this hypothetical, but if it comes down to buying a piece of writing or not based on whether the author can explain what they intended, I may fall on the side of not buying that piece of fiction

It tickles me immensely when Reckoning publishes a really short poem. I'm like "that author got paid $1.75 per word", and that makes me happy. Worth every penny

A plea to everyone who writes cover letters to editors: be yourself. Formal language begins to feel like the province of the soulless more than ever before, and also, I just want to know you and trust in your word, and formality shields me from that. This has been a fuck ai subtweet, thank you

This relentlessly kind, human story leads me to wonder if all stories featuring artificial intelligences that don't completely suck should henceforth be regarded as fantasy instead of science fiction
