Canada isn't perfect. Far from it. But honestly, getting a little sick of American posters' indignation at Canadian policies/tendencies - especially when they're a response to American actions. We can definitely improve. Your government is beyond the pale. Maybe turn your criticism inward.

Honestly, I'm sure this fixation with sperm count is a form of compensation. It's a way for these old, creaky men to assert that they, despite all appearances to the contrary, are still more virile and manly than their counterparts of a younger generation.

Commentary that casts Mark Carney as the 'boring banker' is facile and so misses the point. Whatever one thinks of his politics, the mere appearance (and projection) of competence is just so magnetic -- especially in this moment. To wit, my 17-year-old just described him as 'charismatic'.
