The rotating view of the YZ-775

It wasn't the kind of stuff you would reproduce while playing. That's why most video games, novels and toys focused more on starfighters, blasters and war.

When I was a kid playing with Star Wars toys, I barely touched the subject of the force and lightsabers. The force was more abstract and it wasn't a set of superpowers. Lightsaber duels weren't exciting action scenes, they were more personal and intense. Also it felt very "Luke only".

Here you have the YZ-775. It is always a delight to do a Jeff Carlisle ship. One of the largest ships I have for X-Wing Miniatures. It has two pegholes at the same distance as the Gozanti.

You are missing the point. There were dinosaurs in Star Trek. And that is fun.

Yeah "We did the right thing, we had to let two civilizations die so that our civilization could survive" is a curious take for Star Trek.

Who cares if this episode is saying that Eugenics is great or that a star is the size of a football field or that Zefram Cochrane was a klingon? Mr Spock is having a date with two people at the same time in the same restaurant. And that's fun.

Every episode of Strange New Worlds feels like the screenwritters had an idea for the premise, a Fun Premise and then they do their best to reach it. It doesn't matter if they have to burn continuity, lore, ethics or science to reach there. The Fun Premise takes priority.

I can't look it up right now, but it is when they arrive at Nevarro, the same shot where we see Embo for the first time.

No matter how much time it passes, whenever I see cel shading animation my mind thinks of "Worms 2" cutscenes.

And when they pass the point of "this isn't fine" they will come as: "My parents did this, it's not fair to make me responsible to fix this." or worse "This only happened after non-western countries developed, it is their fault"

Strange New Worlds just managed the impossible. It made the science in a JJ Abrams Star Trek movie feel convoluted and technical.

Kelvin Kirk and Spock looking at Nero: "Wow, that red matter seems so complicated. Digging a hole to a planet core? Carefully handling a dangerous matter? Ours has the shape and weight of a briefcase and apparently it isn't necessary at all for the ship to keep working"

They did make a GX-1 for The Rise of Skywalker, but its engines looked nothing like these. So yes, it is puzzling.

And finally, the other ship that was designed entirely for this ship, the Anzellan Starship. I love that the effects for this ship do the kind of stuff you would avoid for any other miniature work (like wobbling or feeling too light) which in this case it works in its favour.
