Executive Director of childrenhelpingscience.com, Psych-DS maintainer, strong feelings about data management & collaborative science. My last name is "Kline Struhl" (she/her)

The one at CVS is the worst because someone clearly sold a "no operators needed" system...but all it does is get to the end of its abilities and then make you leave a message and hope someone calls back. This isn't AI making an automated system, it's just you making the system worse!

but why though???? So many people agree with you! Currently only beat by 100, 42, 69, and 7. I have not heard the good news about 23 and would like to hear the pitch if you have one!

Philosophy - the arguments are so technical and precise that you will never be able to get them right from extemporaneous speech, and your audience will pounce. Looking back, we all had very high expectations of our audiences but in very different ways.

Everyone's self justifications, according to the evening social: Cogsci - slides, bc your goal is to give a talk where everyone in the room will understand the main point. Ling - Everyone needs all your glossed sentence examples so they can critique them, and refer back to example 3 ten min. later

This was a big part of the reason I made that switch, Obsidian is ultimately just a bunch of .md text files

If and only if your use of Evernote is entirely text based, then Obsidian.

The package is available to use now and is in beta, so if you give it a try, please let us know how it went, positive or negative. github.com/psych-ds/psy... (or shoot me aDM or an email if you're not a github user, you can find my MIT email on the internet)

- And, if you're ready for sharing, upload your data to the OSF @cos.io, taking advantage of their existing Psych-DS community metadata functionality. Run the whole app from beginning to end to curate & share a FAIR dataset, w/ good metadata and a structure that is easy for others to understand!

131

You can create a Psych-DS directory by hand, but this package has an app that will: - Convert your existing data files into a valid Psych-DS directory - Validate a dataset made on your own or with this tool - Make you a pretty data dictionary that is *always in sync with your actual data*

Some background on Psych-DS and why you should use it to organize your data: bsky.app/profile/mekl... tl;dr: if it comes in rows & columns we have a system for it, and if it's in the behavioral/social sciences we also have sensible default conventions and lots of example datasets!

(3) Make changes to your files/folders, and try again. Once you see the green "dataset is valid" message, you're done! (4) (optional) If you'd like to share your data to our growing gallery of examples, go here: github.com/psych-ds/exa... (5) (optional but we hope you will) Tell us how it went!

I'm a generation down from this particular set, my mom got sent to school on St. Pats dressed specifically in orange every year.

...okay, I looked it up, parachutes have french seams, that has to be humans, case closed lol.

160

Most of your clothes are assembled by humans, because robots can't do that with sufficient precision. I'm not really a gambler but I would bet good money that a human sat down with a sewing machine and stitched every panel on the Artemis II parachutes.

SCORE (and working at COS) was a transformational experience for me - beyond the metascience, it taught me a ton about what it takes to execute a project this huge in ambition, logistical demands, and communities of participants and stakeholders. Congrats to every single author and collaborator!!!

...get hundreds of collaborating teams of researchers to mean roughly the same things by "replicating" and "reproducing" analyses, and then pulling the results all back together to create the foundation for an eye-watering variety of approaches to predicting credibility.
