Solar-powered punk media activist in Britain's Steel City – passionate about decentralised tech for the dissemination of information towards a radical municipalist society. I'm also a carer for my partner, a #pwME caused by Covid (mask up when you can!)

That is utterly horrific and should happen only in extreme and/or life-or-death situations rather than generating profits for rich people. No wonder the WHO's recommended maximum temperature for working in comfort is 24°C.

The World Heath Organisation's recommended maximum temperature for working in comfort is 24°C. I realise the global economy is a voracious monster that can never be sated and needs more human sacrifices, but perhaps we can reconsider our priorities in this time of Late Capitalism.

Muted more accounts in the last day than I had in a year.

There are already enough resources on this planet for every single human being to live a decent, dignified life. Never forget the reasons why we're all being prevented from having that world we deserve: a political choice - to further an economic system rooted in greed.

Attacks on Disabled people are another diversion from one of the biggest issues of our time which is that status quo politicians prefer to target the vulnerable than acknowledge that wealth has been redistributed from working class people to millionaires and billionaires and now even trillionaires.

There's another issue (which of course arises from the purpose of most politicians to further policies that feed an unsustainable economy that funnels wealth from the poor to their rich friends). And that issue is that much of the welfare bill is spent on people actually in work in the first place.

Disability takes many forms, mental and physical, and it's so regressive to suggest that we re-label disabilities so as to erase swathes of people from the care that's needed as we've progressed and increased awareness in society.

There is so much wrong with this that bloody dissertations could be written about the remarks alone, but my Disabled partner (who funnily enough has a Masters degree) had the initial reaction that this suggests all Disabled people shouldn't be visible, all hidden away.

"He said carers 'should be the best paid people in society, not the worst'" yet I'm a full-time carer for my partner who has an illness for which there is barely NHS understanding never mind provision, and though I freelance we struggle and spend too much time worrying about social security cuts.

I think a lot of people keep their married names. I don't get it either, but then I don't get why anyone would take their husband's name in the first place, anyway.

Yeah, they had daughter Dakota but divorced. She was originally Terri Boatright iirc but more well known by her married name of Runnels.

Thanks - done!

Funny you should mention: "The CCC does not suggest a maximum temperature for workplaces but points to the example of Spain, where the maximum legal working temperature indoors is 27C for sedentary work and 25C for light physical work." www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
