I saw someone say there is a complete lack of sex in actual play. I think you just need to look into smaller shows to find it. Like yeah it sucks the mainstream ones won't touch it but some of us are putting in the work and I don't like seeing people act like we don't exist

And that was how we knew the GM was just getting off on being sadistic; this character's success pissed them off.

See, every time we tried to cast a spell, we had to roll higher than our own spellcasting DC. Which meant most of the players' spells wouldn't go off; too competent, so the roll needed was too high. But my little dropout? My screw-up? With a low DC because of it being a dump stat? Cleared up.

It backfired beautifully when I brought a complicated little fellow to the table who could use two different stats for two groups of spells, but usually avoided one of them to reflect that they'd flunked out of a magical college.

Reminds me of a home-game GM who liked springing bullshit house rules to make the game "challenging" or "introduce tension" when actually they just frustrated players and slowed everything down.

But for a show? Enacted by performers? Sure, make a spectacle of it, that makes sense.

Because let me tell you. If a home-game GM said "No you have to improvise a rhyme for your spell to work and you the player have to say it like your character means it"? My response would be "Okay, next time I stab a foe you're getting cut, motherfucker."

Bro. Listen. Overall I am still enjoying FATT's Fabula Ultima campaign. But today's episode especially is highlighting the difference between ttrpg players and AP performers.
