The main advantage big dollar donors have is that you can get money earlier. Their money is frontloaded, whereas movement candidates need some momentum first. On the other hand, the more established names like AOC can replicate the frontloaded money pattern for endorsees by using their own lists.

Not all money is created equal. Money clearly hits diminishing returns in terms of election outcomes and just lets off waste heat in the form of oversaturated airwaves. Marginally, the first million is worth more. Qualitatively, a given amount from small donors comes with more voters and volunteers.

I was willing to give anarchism a chance until CHOP. Never again. Anarchists can do good things within the existing system, but they should never, ever be allowed to create the system that they would prefer. The popular definition of anarchy is correct, and the anarchist fantasy of it is a lie.

They just reproduced all the worst brutality and unaccountability of the barbaric cops who rule over us, with none of the nominal civilian control and documentation that at least deters some of the worst excesses that men with guns are capable of. Just nihilistic violence.

With the condition of the crime scene and the time that has passed there is no way prosecutors can nail him even if they know exactly who he is. And yet there hasn’t been restorative justice outside the law that the anarchists are always telling us can take the place of that system. Just a cover-up.

You can tell from one of the videos that an unseen person is one of the murderers, you can tell from his voice that he is white, and you can hear him recruit bystanders in a conspiracy to become accessories after the fact and cover up the murder he has committed.

To your point: in the 70s it really did look like sexual liberation was coming equally for noncing as for consenting relations between adults. In the 80s or so things rearranged so that noncing went back to its typical pairing with traditional sexual mores, which is finally being recognized now.
