AC is big business in So FL. I used a contractor I’ve been doing business with for years. I keep a 110v window unit for hurricanes (with my generator). It cooled my BR quite well when my AC croaked. Those units work well for an apartment. (If they allow them).

It isn’t the ”backfeed” issue that worries me. US residential wiring is built around a simple assumption: power flows from the panel (breaker box) to circuits, outlets, and appliances. Breakers and wire sizing are selected with that one-way flow in mind. Systems should be NEC compliant.

I was serious about that. I washed with the cold water side of the faucet. August is generally our worst month for heat. With climate change the heat started in April and has been relentless. 105° heat index almost every day. It’s the humidity that wears you down.
