It’s funny when you read more than one book by an author, you notice their pet words. For Maggie O’Farrell, I would say that word is “flensed,” which I had to look up.

Raise your hand if you are a lit mag editor or reader who is very worried about the AI stuff the new Submittable CEO plans to try to force on us? That email introducing him yesterday is haunting me. We don't need or want AI anywhere near our submissions process.

There are a couple of really weird colon placements in this book. Not sure how I feel about this.

I rewatched Good Will Hunting with my family last night & realized that the film is Ben Affleck's & Matt Damon's best work. They peaked early. Sure, the movie has its flaws & they have been in lots of things since, but it stands head & shoulders above everything else they've done IMO.

I always pictured getting to be little old ladies with my mom—who was only 21 years older than I. I thought it would be such a fun phase of life. I pictured us having tea & laughing at everything.

Ta da! My kid helped me get it done. Now I guess I’m going to have to find another book to read.

It's kind of mind-blowing how incompetent the press and our politicians are that not a single one of them can prove whether McConnell is dead or alive. Where are the journalists? WTF is @andybeshearky.bsky.social doing? It cannot be that hard.
